Well said!!! People spend so much time judging others they fail to recognize that their glass house is full of busted windows.

this happened to a friend of mine as well
At our private school we actually had to sign a contract to not have sex, smoke etc. Well when one of the teachers found out that a friend of mine did have a child at 14 he expressed how disappointed he was in her and actually showed some anger. Later when she was older she had written an article about her rape and well... needless to say the teacher felt pretty bad. You are right. Know the facts before you say anything to anyone. Some adults need to relearn the golden rule!

Two things:
First, it's nobody's business. Funny how women who are raped so often feel like it's their fault. Clearly she's a woman of courage and strength.
Second, she needs to continue being a fabulous example of strength and courage by telling the bitches at the concession stand to stick the raffle tickets in their ear. She, if she's as you wrote, would never think of doing such a thing to them, and it is unfair to their growth and development to let them think such behavior is acceptable.

It's lovely that she has a friend like you.
I work very hard not to be judgmental, I think we all are to a degree and it's built into our society in so many ways. I think we all have to look at people for who they are to us. So much of that goes on here, it's really gotten to me. We have to realize in life and on Blogit we never know the whole story, and even if we did, we don't have the right to say who is "right" and who is "wrong"... or good and bad. Wonderful post, and I think women like this, true fighters, find their way in the end because they have such solid character. What a strong person she is. Her path will rise up to meet her soon.

wow...that's selfless...keeping the child. good for her. I'm sure if she has the chutzpah to get that far in life despite challenges, she'll get through this.

I appreciate the input. I told her that I posted it. She said it was OK as long as I don't use her or her son's name. I don't feel as if you are lecturing at all, you make a good point.

I'm not one to lecture, but maybe you should edit this post a little. If the circumstances surrounding your friend's child's birth is such a secret, a public forum such as this may not be the place to discuss it. The world is incredibly small. We never truly know who's reading what. Why take a chance with this information?

And then there's common courtesy. In my opinion you don't treat people badly no matter what you think of them and you don't let your worst enemy stand out in the rain. These women must be some pieces of handiwork. Their opinions should be worth less than zero.

I totally agree.
I see it here a lot on Blogit, people judging people without even knowing them. I see a lot of people critizing the rich and famous too and I do not believe that is right. No one has the right to judge anyone, rich, beautiful, ugly, poor. Every one has their issues to deal with and as humans have feelings too.
For the most part, I do not believe that anyone in this world has a totally worry free life or has it easy.
Yes, some people are born with more money or better looks, but some of those people have it worse off than most, I truly believe that.
Since being in this part of the world I have experienced first hand children from "privledged" families, they are some of the unhappiest children because of the lack of time they get to spend with their parents. They are often brought up in an aritificial world not knowing what it is like to walk bare foot on fresh cut grass.....things like that.
I could go on and on, but I totally agree that no one has the right to judge any one until they walked a mile in their shoes.

Her husband finally has an interview in his field and it looks like he will likely get the job as he has a friend who works for the same company.
You are right some people are just blind and stupid. Sadly for them, they are missing out on a great friend in her.
