I know, bel. I hate living out of a suitcase. I just got home yesterday myself. We made a trip to TN to visit family. Glad I'm back home to my comfort zone.

No that is not the church, that was my idea of being silly. I am telling everyone that is our future home in NC.

Hi -
just read about your trip and checked out the pictures. I did not realize that movie was filmed in NC. I suppose eventually I will get around to sharing some of the cool pics I have amassed over the past couple of weeks... Thanks for sharing yours, and I am glad you had such a great vacation!!

Carl and I decided that would be our new home as it is likely within our price range LOL! Actually it was just an abandoned building that drew me in with it's character, something about it made me want to know more about it.

I do hope you get a chance to visit. We can be a volitile bunch when it comes to our politics but we LOVE to have visitors. Truly it is a wonderful place with much to see and do.

Luckily neither of us are very good at being mad at the other so it never lasts very long. We have a rule: If it will not make a difference at the end our lives, let it go. We are pretty good about sticking to that most of the time.
I have heard of Chapel Hill but that's about it, I'll have to look it up.

Bel, someday, I'd like to see Chapel HIll, North Carolina, because of the
school there. I've always heard good things about it and a good friend of mine way back in the day went to school there. It looks beautiful. I'm glad you had such a good trip, even if you are both control freaks, lol

Bel, Loved your post and enjoyed the pictures so much. I always have a desire to start sining "Oh, beautiful, for spacious skies, for..........." when I'm standing in a place such as that. There is so much that is beautiful in and about our USA.

Chimney Rock was one of the first places I went when I first visited North Carolina. It is simply beautiful in Asheville. There are many things to see and do in both Carolinas. And, you're right: the people are very laid back and polite.

Wow! Great Photos...
I enjoyed your post too. America is a gorgeous country worth fighting for. Thanks for reminding us.
I visited The Wright Museum and Nags Head Beach in North Carolina a few years ago. The sand dunes there were awesome. They had ferry boats that went to little islands....the Carolinas are really a nice place to live or visit.

We have another 6 years to decide and I have a feeling we will be back there many times to decide exactly where we are going to settle. I would like to live either in or very near the mountains and from what I saw of NC that's just about anywhere LOL!

Well, now I know!
I asked where you had been in my blog -- then thought -- moron, go by and read it yourself. So here I am.
I went to school in Spartanburg, thousands of years ago. I was actually at Fripp over part of the weekend and Hilton Head the rest. I'm glad you got to see Chimney rock -- that part of the NC mountains rocks -- so beautiful! Are you guys moving to the mountains?
