Bel, I've only been to Florida once in 93, to Miami, Key Largo and Key West

but it was beautiful, so warm and tropical.  I like the part about knocking Carl out with a cold, so he wouldn't drive.  M and I are bad because neither one of us is good with directions.  We could wander for hours if it weren't for Mapquest.

I am laughing at the part about the hooker telling you that your BIL needs to be slapped upside the head for putting you in that part of town.  The hookers probably know the "good' parts of town from the "bad' parts better than anybody.  Funny that she would tell you!  I don't blame you for being nervous about the fighting.

The beach looks worth the trip alone, and you sound so content. It's amazing, isn't it, how peaceful it can be just to be together, after all is said and done.  M and I don't need a lot of entertainment, we like a quiet life, and like you and Carl, we're ordinary people. We have simple dreams, and one of them is to grow old together.  I look forward to your next pics and more stories!

Bel, I had to laugh at your question about the boiled peanuts.  The first time I ever went through Georgia, I just had to buy some and try them as I had never heard of that.  HAHAHAHA     The rest of your post was very interesting.  I'm so glad you had a great time.

Lovely post, pictures and gifts Bel!

I've taken numerous road trips to Florida from Indiana - can relate to many of these travel scenes. Georgia is sooo boring on I 75. Encountered some unfriendly folk and a few friendly ones through there. Yeah, boiled peanuts?? lol..Their peaches are really good though...:) And those Georgia accents - awesome imo.

Thanks for sharing.
