Furry Heating Pads
Totally agree with you about cats making great heating pads! I have a wonderful brown tabby named Tyty, who loves to lay against my feet when we go to bed. Talk about a nice foot warmer! Purrrrr!
Cats also seem to know when their humans don't feel well. My cat often curls up to me when she knows I'm not feeling good. Her presence always sooths my spirit. You're right about stoking their fur relieving stress. I always give her a big hug and pet her for as long as she'll let me when I'm stressed. I'm very grateful for my two cats. I don't see my other one, a big Maine Coon named Mickey, very much, but in the evening he'll come out and get on my lap for a good bunch of petting. Hair everywhere! Ack! He's sweet, though.

I only have a lightweight blanket because my three cats all sleep right next to me, and give off so much heat I don't need a heavier blanket!
