It's ill-advised to trash another celebrity
regardless of one's own particular bias. I have always liked Tom Cruise, and felt he had turned in at least one Oscar-worthy performance -- I'm thinking of his role as the jerk brother in "Rain Man." At the time I felt he was passed over because of some political flap or other within the Academy. People are very sensitive to put-downs on psychiatric issues in general, (we're all a little crazy in our own way) and his comments about Brooke Shields were clearly not well thought out. He seems to be stumbling through a cluster of bonehead plays lately -- I hope he gets back on track soon. As for Brooke, I always liked her on TV, and would like to see her come back in a series sometime. :)
