If they were just trying to make space for all viewpoints...
Why are they insisting that no one speak against what they do? They don't just want their own voice heard, they want the rest of us to agree with it. And, they are rapidly changing laws state by state to force others to agree with what they are doing. And, forcing some out of their jobs if they don't agree. I find that reprehensible!
I have no problem allowing someone to be whatever they think they should be. But I have a real problem with someone trying to force me to accept their behavior as being okay when I believe it's wrong. And, then to try to make me be quiet about it. I will not be silent and I will not stop speaking out until I've drawn my last breath on this earth. And that's final!

It's not about forcing one's views, but it's about making a conscious space
for listening to views that are not dominant, I would think?
