:)

You know I can intepreted that sentence in many ways.

But...

At the end of the day I still stick to what I said to you before in one comment - I might not agree with most of your posts, but I can still respect you for your views.

Also I love visiting alternative views from my own, because I find it interesting just to see how different the world really is and to understand why some people think and say the things they do.

After all isn't that one of the biggest reasons for the conflict in our world?  The fact that people do not bother to really hear what the opposite party is trying to convey.

SevenStars - not specifically - only in the case of if the shoe fits
The scenario where someone has appeared as a new member on Blogit and began authoring opinions in this category that have been posted by others countless times previous, is not unique. I include myself in that group, it will always continue to be this way due to the dynamics and realities of this site. One thing you should keep in mind if you read anything in my postings that seems as if I am speaking directly to something that you have posted is; that it is likely that both of our contentions have been posted as an opinion here before.

Xeno-x - I agree completely - even within Christianity there are some

valid concepts - - (even a broken clock tells correct time twice a day)

But what is still circulating as widely held beliefs in our society is alarming on a number of fronts. Too many persons of faith seem to believe that more faith, or religious belief in general, is a good thing. That somehow belief in their version of a supreme being can be instilled amongst those who do not believe and even amongst those of other faiths. It is a Talibanish mind set, freeze the advancements of science, ignore the common knowledge base that our species has amassed over time and deny anything that does not fit into some ancient manuscript. How can a mentality such as this author anything but societal discord and inevitable disaster? ...yet they still keep coming out of the woodwork like demented termites on acid, bleating the same irrational catch phrases and demanding that the rest of the world conform to their twisted thinking.

could be these are the last remnants of a dark age of philosophical thought
problem is, they are fighting to thwart the ascension of new thought, fearful that they would have to accept that they are the dinosaurs (whoops!!!  -- those are just big bones put there by Satan to deceive us!!!) that they really are - last of a fast becoming extinct species.

thus they fight to drive evolution out of educational curricula, place the discredited theory of intelligent design (see my GOD AS THE UNIVERSE AS AN ORGANISM for a major question for those believers) in the curricula, implant prayer in schools, religious symbols in public places, and support Israel  because this will hasten the second coming of Christ and the rapture (both of which are spurious concepts at best).

I support any line of thought that has a valid basis.  Even Christianity, if it so does.  However, the thoughts expressed on Blogit by pseudo-Christians usually are far from having a valid basis.

blackcat30 - tolerance of others is the only realistic goal
At least as far as I can tell, yet we hear some people preaching against tolerance as if it is a dirty word.

I always hope for peace... but I agree that one religion will never happen.
My hope is that one day we can all just learn to accept each other as equals.
