Since you're in the writing game, one little grammar check... When you speak of "Chris and I" the correct form is "Chris and me."   And as far as what's up between you and Chris -- whether "just friends" is the way to go, I usually think if it's meant to be, it will be. One thing you love about him is that he didn't cling or try to tie you down - and vice versa.  How lucky is that?
