Are you watching the weather channel????
Ernesto has moved back out into the warm waters and is heading for Miami. Those people spent the past 2 days standing in long lines for food, hardware supplies and gas, because Americans always wait till the last minute no matter what!!!
Ernesto is still predicted to move across Florida from south to north. Can't say I've ever seen a tropical storm do this. Who knows what impact he will have?
Worst case scenario::: He moves too slowly and drops a dozen inches over the entire state and they have the worst flooding disaster in their history.

We all need to pray for peace...
each of us in our own way.
I used to imagine a world where we didn't have to worry about bombs or guns or organized destruction, a world where people took care of one another and accepted differences in culture and thinking with equanimity. Now it's difficult to imagine a world where there is no war, no suspicion, no rejection of any culture or belief that differs from "the one" and where nobody agrees with anybody about what, exactly, is that one true thing.

I am rather used to the lack of sensitivity. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I support that. My blog is not about politics in general, it about my experience of the situation.
I prefer to be proactive with what I can do and what I can change rather than wasting my time debating politics. I am not going to debate the right or wrong of any of it. for me what is done is done and now I have to put the pieces of our lives together again and rebuild with the basic foundation that we already had laid.
Thank you so much for your words and thoughts.

Why can't people just understand...
Despite what one's feelings are regarding any war, the soldiers involved in such a war and their subsequent family/children are still human beings with feelings like everybody else.

Blonde you are very right.
We all have to find our own way in a situation such as this. It's not always easy.

I agree the family suffers and often in silence.........it is a very hard thing to deal with when one member is separated and has to function in a war zone and the rest of the family has to function without that member.....communication is hard.......it is like you are cut off from someone you are use to sharing your life with everyday........someone you are use to depending on as well.....not just monetarily, but emotionally.

Just keep an eye on the weather channel.
By morning Ernesto will move back out into the waters and they'll know if he will re-strengthen or not.
There isn't much ocean between Cuba and Florida, so that's a good thing. If he had headed up thru the gulf of mexico as he was originally forecast to do, he would have had 400 miles of warm gulf water to build up some steam, much like Katrina did.

Tampa area. As I said. I am not being stupid about it. There are people I need to see there which is why I am going. Won't do me much good if they have evacuated anyway. I am simply having faith that God will do what needs to be done.

Bel, I still don't know what part of Florida you guys are headed for.
But Ernesto was weakened alot by the mountains of Cuba. We still don't know what will happen when he re-enters the warm waters of the Gulf/Atlantic.
Presently, he's supposed to make landfall in the Keys tomorrow night, then move across Florida from south to north. Hurricanes don't weaken when they move across Florida the way they do when they move inland in other states.

I was thinking about healing tonight too.
So often we think that when tragedy strikes, we'll endure it, then spring right back. Maybe it will take a few months to recover, but we'll be fine.
But we never are. Something in us has died. Somethng has been reborn. We're different people when we come out the other side. It's inevitable.
