Thor, that sounds incredibly painful
I always keep the bar light enough that I can do several reps and I stop before I'm struggling. It was nice to have spotters and be able to just go for it.

Success as a warrior
Way to go!!! Having spotters is a good idea always, but hten i am cautious. i dislocated my shoulder and broke a bone where the muscel attached when, after benchpressing a warm-up set at a new gym, i missed the bar catch it was a U-shape instead of the modified U higher in teh back that I was used to. The bar dropped all the way to the floor with my arm extended above my shoulder. That when i was hitting my personal best (just 205--I'm a leg press guy). I was out for two years, and I have never been brave enough to push it again. Now I'm lifting with a couple of guys who could spot me. WE'll see. It's week one for me.
Keep on keepin on!
