Actually, Blanche, I only meant commentary that was critical.

You've picked a strange venue to write in, Mademoiselle
If you really object to commentary. Also, you do tend to interject a few of your own, in your own inimitable style.
(Actually, I'm not so sure that it's really inimitable, but I'm glad).
Roses are red,
violets are blue
I'm schizophrenic
And so am I

As in a Bergman film, Straightforward ...
I like to tear down that third wall that separates the reader from the writer.
Or, maybe, that's the fourth wall, I'm thinking of.

Mademoiselle. I'm in admiration of you for the way you write about the
simple day2day happenings. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But that would be bad-mannered to say so.

Mademoiselle,
If your family were perfect in all aspects, then you'd have no material. In fact, none of us would have anything to write about, if it weren't for some family experiences that have made those posts possible for us. :) Just trying to pull out the positives. :)

I did show it to her, Moon. (Though, she remembered it, anyway.)
She said it still doesn't make up for all the other "garbage" ... which, btw, likely includes the post I'm going to be putting up, oh, 40 minutes from now.

I don't think any bad was written about family. It was penned in the vein of humor. And there are various kinds/ techniques of writing in comedy.

Mademoiselle, Yes! That's it! Show her this part:
"I spend a great many sentences badmouthing my mother in this blog, just as I do in real life. However, the reality is that I love her immensely. And were she my sister, instead of my mother, I'm absolutely convinced we would be the best of friends."
What more could she want for God's sake? She just needs to have this framed and keep reading it. Most parents don't get this from their kids even once in their lifetimes - so, she needs to be content. Tell her to read it and then shut the f*ck up........er.......I mean to read it and bask in the glow of mother / daughter love.

Mademoiselle, I distinctly remember a post (though everything else is fuzzy) wherein you paid your mother the highest of compliments - I think you alluded to her as being your best friend (or that she could be your best friend.) If I recall it was on or near the occasion of your or her birthday - although that part could be wrong. Did she see that post? To me, that one post wiped out all of the so called bad things said before or since - but, then, as you know, I am weird. I've always said that the purpose of a child is to aggravate her parents unmercifully; the purpose of a parent is to embarrass the child - there can be and are a myriad permutations to this but, I stand by my original formula. Soooooooo, the two of you are doing great......IMHO......

My mother used to dig through my
room and read everything I wrote. Then when I moved out, she'd come over to babysit and dig through my office, and read everything I wrote. Eventually I just said, "Look. Do you really want to know everything I'm thinking? If you do, and it offends you, it's your fault." As far as I'm concerned, she's been warned. MYOB, right? Take care
