I did that first time around
When my girls were little they were spoiled to death when their father lost his job and we could no longer afford the things we did they were horrible made me think twice when he went back to work, My grandson is 8 he opens doors for me carries my bags not spoiled a bit wonderful children and a pleasure to be around very good post thank you

The puppy analogy was perfect
I was raised “hard” and raised my daughter in a similar manner (although I tried to encourage along the way – something I was denied). It needn’t be a heavy fisted approach (figuratively speaking) but children can be raised with strong boundaries AND love. The result, at least with my daughter – a confident, compassionate, and extremely capable young lady. I’m very proud of her.
