The Mormons aren't bad...
I was one for a long while, and they will let your kid color pictures to give you after sunday school...didn't actually know you were looking for a church to go to though....

The city I live in is made of mostly of Catholics

Probably about 70% or more of the people here are Catholic.  After them, the largest chuch is the Mormons.  I think there is a small baptist church here as well.

I don't hold grudges, it's not my style.  My wife wonders how I can be so forgiving when we have been treated so poorly.  Anger only hurts the one holing it.  I have too much to do in my life to carry that kind of baggage.

You have a son now.

And there's probably a large Baptist/Methodist/Presbyterian  church in your community. They offer a mother's day out program so you can take Trey by there several days and week for half days and your wife can get some much-needed time to herself.

Also, when he's old enough, they have day camps the churches send their kids to during summer. At these camps they learn about swimming, fishing, forgiving those who've wronged them..etc.

At sunday school each week, Trey will draw a lovely picture that he will proudly present to his parents when you go to pick him up. Then he'll tell you how the teacher taught them to love their neighbors and help people.

Kids need these types of teachings. Though I certainly DONT' support the Catholic religion bec of what they did to those little boys for 30 years, there are many loving, caring churches in every community.

Last year when the govt failed to get help into New Orleans, Biloxi and other towns along the Gulf, it was the CHURCHES who stepped up and began to feed us and bring us water, hand cleanser, prayer, etc.

Right now in New Orleans, the churches nationwide are still going down there weekly and helping residents gut their homes and rebuild. Our nations needs the churches.

I can tell by your writing that some church or christian somewhere at some point in your life DID something shitty to you. That happens to all of us. It's happened to me as well. I say, "Get over it!"

How long are you going to hold a grudge?

At some point, won't it be uncool to part of that group
I'm sure emos feel special but not everyone is flocking to be one.

Tolerance will fail...

it's human nature to want to belong to an exculsive organization.  "I'd never join any club that would have me as a member." Groucho Marx.

I think that's the appeal of more zealous religious groups...being the "chosen" people.
