LOL - I see now...
Would it make you feel any better to know that almost all of the "Rats" that I have seen have been roadkill? Then again I have not looked up in any trees...rumor had it when I was younger that the could hang from trees by their long rat-like tail... got any trees??

Wow! That was scary!

Can't blame you for being upset at the time. Though it is sort of humorous.

I probably would have screamed so loud the neighbors would have called
the police Bel, LOL. UGH - shudder. Just like a man to laugh... So, nosy here...you surely rescinded that punishment right? Lol again...

No, no Bel...it really WAS an opossum, not a rat..
If you would have just got your panties out of a wad and listened to what Carl was saying....

I would say you handled that very well. I would need massive amounts of tissue, clean clothes and a pressure washer for the house if I reached out to an oppossum. Oh my goodness. You do have a precious husband. He could not be there so the next best thing was to laugh. Be blessed both of you.

Bel, ewww! I agree, possums are just gross. I had one play dead

in my laundry basket in an old house I lived in years ago. I just took the basket out to the front of the house and waited for it to "come to life" (and re-washed the clothes).  They are amazingly dumb.  There's quite a few here, too.

But, having to deal with that without Carl was a bummer. On last night's news, there was a story on about a local Army Stryker brigade that had just returned from Iraq being sent back.  Needless to say, the wives and girlfriends are very unhappy about that.  They also mentioned a blog for military wives and I wondered if that was the one you wrote about.

Those possums are said to carry diseases. Be careful around them.

Like fourcats, I've never seen one either. A live one at least. Dead one on the side of the road once or twice, but that's about it. I'm a city boy born and bred. Give me concrete and steel and wild animals that walk on two legs any day.

Might be kind of fun to have one for a pet.

wow, i've never seen an oppossum in real life. but i can see where
thinking you're reaching for a kitten would cause an adverse reaction.
