The British did indeed use law enforcement - and their law enforcement used the tools of wiretaps, surveillance of telecommunications, and interagency sharing of information that ours would still be forbidden from using if the Democrats had their way.   Our security agencies finally are being allowed to get "up to snuff," thanks to President Bush, and all you do is long for the ineffectiveness of the Bubba and Mr. Peanut years. 

By the way, Cy, I love your thoughtful discussion of the issues I raised. I didn't realize I'd blown you away that thoroughly.

The British use law enforcement to thwart attacks ...
if our security agencies had been up to snuff, 9-11 could have been prevented, but that wouldn't have suited the purposes of an overreaching unitary executive.
