good points- It's a small private school- no school psychologists or anything like that but I am going to talk to the school administrators today about him.

Why Are You...
the one dealing with this problem? As a teacher, your job is to teach. Doesn't your school system have a network already in place for dealing with such students so that teachers can focus on their job of teaching?
I'd inform the loudmouth once of my expectations for his behavior in class. If he disregarded my initial instructions then I'd immediately send him up to school administration--no questions asked--so that I can proceed with my job of teaching. After all, I'd hate to cheat my other students by wasting time and attention on behavior that I wish to discourage.
