Hackneyed is good. I haven't had much of a chance to use it, though. Cliche always comes to mind first.

Good word for today. Glad you gave an example. Is cockney also hackneyed?
I remember East Enders and am almost sure those actors portray the LOndon Cockney accent. I don't know hy these two words connect for my mind....no matter. Thanks for the post, words, ideas...and your presence. Shalom
