Bel

That is great news.

I have always wanted to adopt as well.  My Dad was adopted. It has alwasy been something that I've wanted to do . I can only imagine how stressful the paperwork process will be. Not ready for that part yet.

That's great.  I can imagine how happy she really is. I am glad her wait is over and finally she will have her little child.

Geez Passion!
Nobody ever lets me work around here!   I am on EST Dubai is the same as Iraq, so I am good at that time difference.  It is 7:59 AM in Dubai.

Where is everybody tonight?
We need to learn the time difference between Central Standard and Dubai. I have a freind in India that I talk to every night. And he's usually going for breakfast when I'm going to bed.

That's happy news. I had a very close friend once, named Christian. We worked together in Montréal, he was from Paris.

I helped him learn English, he tried to get me to speak French properly, because he said in Québec we spoke slang,

"Jean, tu parle franglais," il dit. lol

Sadly he was divorced and remarried and was on his honeymoon with his new bride. They were killed by a moose in Québec provincial park. I miss him

Babe
I think if I were to adopt a child, I would get an older one.

Blanche
The average waiting time for an American baby is 7 plus years.  Beth waited until her late 20's to have Connor and after years of trying for a second baby they decided to adopt.  The reality for her was that by the time they have a baby for her, she wouldn't be allowed to adopt because she would be consider too old.  It's a messed up system.

I recently read an Anne Tyler novel
about two families who adopted children from overseas. The novel traces the lives of the two families.

Nice news!

Bel, I seem to be hearing about another "out of the country" adoption
more and more: either China or Latin America.  I'm happy for Beth and Christian, but why can't anybody adopt American babies anymore?

boxes and boxes of kleenex seem like an appropriate gift!
btw, to answer your question to a past post of mine, the countdown (now 50) is to my birthday.

Bel
How wonderful!!!  I know that adoption can take a very long time.  It's so good when it finally comes through!
