OK, FW, you're right

Hank Johnson is no conservative. But a review of his stand on the war on terror makes him out to be less liberal than Rocky McKinney. (Here's the link to his site: http://www.hankforcongress.com/issues)

As for Lieberman, I doubt it was an aberration given the current dynamics of the Democrats. Remember, it was a Democrat primary. What I call into question is the election being spun as a huge referendum on the war when so few people voted.

And if you want to talk mandates, what of Bubba and his 43% mandate?

I don't think McKinney's loss was about the war
it was about whether Georgians want representatives who can at least pretend to be sane.

McKinney lost to a conservative????????
In Georgia, an African American may call himself a conservatives, but the the rednnecks he's just another .... The seat was the state's first black representative and it remains so today. You GOPers used Bush's three percentage point victory to proclaim a Republican mandate, but Liberman's loss was an aberation?

Writer of Light, excellent analysis of yesterday's primary races. It looks
even more likely that independent Lieberman will run and win back his senate seat, then run for president on an independent ticket.  All the Democrats did yesterday was to wake a sleeping giant!
