Gomedome, you outlast them anyway, that's the ultimate satisfaction
as annoying as it is to be vilified, and the attacks must get annoying, you do outrank and outlast most of your attackers. That must annoy the heck out of the usual suspects.

LOL...They can't stand the suspense, they have to come see all the filth you're spreading about them

Sinful as it is for them to do such

Sunnybeach7 -what is even funnier is how often their antics drive the very
blogs that they revile up in the rankings.
Every time that this blog has found itself in the top ten overall, it is almost invariably because some fervent bible thumper has decided to pick a fight with me. That is the one thing I am dissapointed in from the last few scathing posts about me, they did virtually nothing to elevate my blog rankings.

You know what beats all? What is supposed to be the percentage of them vs. the rest of us?
If you check out the popularity in the religous/spiritual section, the top 5-6 blogs are not theirs. LOL

Sunnybeach7 - the list of inaccuracies was actually quite extensive
...even from my less than objective perspective.
That is one of the reasons I found humor in it, the blog author just made up a bunch of things. Another thing that had me chuckling was the list of usual suspects involved.

When I wasn't busy being angry because it was so ludicrous, I found it quite humorous as well.
I think one of the best one's was how all you do is "try to PROVE that God doesn't exist". LOL
I must have missed that post....could you direct me to where you've done that?

What's especially funny is the post you had up at the time was the one that said you wouldn't try to prove to anyone that there is no God.

Sunnybeach7 -Learning how messed up I am was quite a surprise to me as well
I thought things were going pretty good....I had no idea that I was such as loser but against all odds I will attempt to carry on.......it's actually kind of funny when you think about it. Of all of the posts that I have written that could rub people the wrong way, a person that I never have dialogue with (by design), picks up on one of my most innocuous statements to attempt to villify me. By the reasoning that this person used, I do not have the right to say that I do not believe in God, even when making the concession that it is only my opinion. ... it goes to show that we must always consider the source.

Gome,
I read some of those posts about you. I couldn't believe how messed up you truely are, and I never noticed! LOL

What I did notice is that one of those posts up and disapeared

I find it hypocritical...no wait, that's an understatement....that some people can claim to believe in God, Satan, the Bible, HELL.......and spew forth these lies and crap?!

Blanche01 - the expectations for one's self is really all that we have
control over.
I could have come out swinging and clobbered a few of them when they got especially stupid and scathing but what is the point? You cannot make people smarter by arguing with them. This is also an issue beyond religious belief and more indicative of human nature in general than anything else. It matters not what philosophy, religion or belief set that one would want to use as an example, there are always a few talking heads in every crowd. Those who adhere to and proliferate words that sound nice while acting in a totally different manner. We cannot allow ourselves to be shamed by the lowest common denominator, the embarrassment should be entirely theirs....they earned it.

Gomedome, yep, I think I am, you've resigned yourself to hypocrisy and
espect it as a matter of course when dealing with someone who professes religious faith. I am one of those "nutcases" who believes in God, Christ and the whole nine yards, so I have higher expectations, for myself as well.
However, blogging can do damage, not so much to the intellectually and emotionally inured, like you or myself, but to those who aren't quite as hardened to the games, some of the newbies, for example.

Blanche01 - wow - it sounds like you are more annoyed with these people
than I am.
I look at it philosophically and with a bit of humor (what else can we do?). We should be grateful that these people are spending so many hours blogging and not out in society doing real damage.

Gomedome, I've never been more ashamed to call myself Christian than
I have from witnessing the hateful, derisive, abusive, mean-spirited two-faced language that has been dished out here on Blogit by the most sanctmonious, and high-minded of writers who write lofty tomes in Religion and Spirituality, then write mean, backstabbing comments all over others blogs, and just puerile, and attacking posts and comments to or about about anyone who doesn't conform to their ideology.
I don't attend a church, for this very reason, and it is despicable and in violation of everything that I believe that is true and decent about Christ's teachings. The ones who lob grenades of words at each other are truly hurling stones when their own morals are sorely lacking.

TVBlogger - I got a chuckle out of that last part
Yeah, it is just pettiness and also a common human trait to band together into little gossip cliques. I would be lying however if I said that it did not bother me a bit but only to a minor degree. I think the thing that annoys me the most is when someone that I have never had any dialogue with, reads one of my posts and fills in the blanks for a character assassination any way that they see fit. I guess we always have to keep in mind that this is a public forum, a credit card, a computer with internet hookup and a pulse, are the only requirements needed to participate.

Their name calling and pettiness
says far more about who they are than who you are. But you already know that. BTW, if athiests (or agnostics) aren't allowed to talk about God, then these fundies aren't ever allowed to talk about anything related to science since they don't really believe in that.

avant-garde - I'm the first to admit that being combative is my nature
But in fairness, the 2 you mention are not the best examples as both came after me. It was not the other way around. I also have to admit that when someone does attempt to take me to task in that manner, that I quite often ride the resultant acrimony up in the rankings. That is how this site works after all. Thank you for this comment.

gomedome, I just couldn't help myself with the last retarded comment. I do though, understand your dislike for name calling and the attribution of your nature by people who do not really know you and gain all of their knowledge of your character from this one blog. I have read posts from some of your other blogs. Your work is concise and helpful and your intelligence and abilities are not doubted by me.

I, myself know why you have a spot here in this category. I have been around your work for some time now. I must say, however, that I do not completely understand your need to butt heads with Odysseus, NOPEACE, and others who have come and gone.
There are some who are better off being left alone. I have found myself in a confrontation with Dennison Mann, and quickly realized that it was futile. I was much happier just letting everyone alone.
