sounds like you need a compilation cd of urban and industrial noises just for nostalgia's sake

I used to live under the flight path to Boeing Field
in Seattle, which was also under the flight path for Sea-Tac international airport. At times the flights over were so loud they drowned out the sound of my lawn mower. There was not a minute of the day when it was quiet enough to hear the surf of Interstate 5, just a few blocks away, except sometimes around 5 a.m. I miss it.

the hot chocolate and pizza definitely helps BlondeAmbition
.. and the planes don't come in after about 10:30 pm which means the nights are relatively peaceful.

Robdon

I use to leave right next to the freeway with cars screaming by non stop for 24hrs/7 days a week, I thought that was bad, but I don't know if I would want to deal with the aircraft noise along with the haunting thought of one crashing on to my roof.

Good thing that you have positive thoughts on your brain along with the comforts of hot chocolate and pizza!

I'm so glad I just read this

I live next to a small municipal airport and they buzz all round and there's been 7 crashes in 7 years. Loud, huh? Scary, even more so?

Just for that, tomorrow, my fiction blog, SKETCH ART, will be dedicated to this very thing. Thanks for the idea.
