But I hate Christmas...
Yuck!  Shopping, bad weather, crowds, unrealistic expectations, pressure, too much cooking and baking and too much eating and drinking, too many old family issues floating to the surface, too many "oh, that's just what I wanted" comments when you know it's a lie, which reminds me, I intend to finish my shopping in August this year. Then I can fo-ged-aboudit.

well done Mel
there's also the first line from the great Aussie rock classic... "Monday I got Friday on my mind.."

am trying to think of what rhymes with thursday CL
.. and what is thursday in the emotional scheme of things?? You'd expect Simon and Garf to have written about Thursdays but I don't believe they did.

yes Pat_B it is all about context
.. one person's Monday is another person's Christmas

a Saturday that's equivalent to a Monday...
that's an intriguing idea BlondeAmbition.. it's like the two most emotionally contrary days wrapt up in a puzzle

I don't like Mondays either BUT...

I know of a promising Monday song!

Come Monday, it'll be all right
Come Monday, I'll be holdin' you tight
I spent four lonely days in a brown L. A. haze
And I just want you back by my side

Good Ol' Jimmy Buffet
...

P.S. I'm checking out Leaves of Grass ...One particular poem has caught my attention because it's so simple.  I tell myself... "I could've written it!"   It's titled "Are you the New person, drawn toward Me?"

VIVA CUBA LIBRE!   Mel

Sunday's on the phone to Monday. Tuesday's on the phone to me.
are there any songs at all about Thursday?  I'm going to write a song about Thursday getting into a fight with Saturday, because Saturday night's all right for fighting.  Rainy days and Mondays always make me anorexic.

Tuesday through Friday is what I love most, Rob.  I HATE MONDAYS!!!!!  I used to hate having to get up for school on Mondays...Now I hate them simply for the fact that they drag me into another week.  Ah, well...Life marches on!!

Good to see ya again, Peachy!!...

I love Mondays... Or used to.
Weekends, for a mother employed 9-5 outside the home, are endurance challenges. There's the weekly shopping, laundry, big cooking to be ready for the coming week, yard work, heavy cleaning, catching up on things put off during the work week. And most of all, time with kids, picnics, excursions. By Monday I was ready for a few quiet hours at my desk and a whole hour for lunch. :)

Robdon

Over here.......Friday is equivalent to Sunday in the States.....so techinically, my Monday is on Saturday now.
