Jen--- Either "laid" or "lain" is correct. Both are past participles of
"lay." Enjoyed reading this portrayal of responsible parenting.

I have been wondering here lately as to how I am going to handle the dating era of my sons' lives. There is just so much to worry about these days - sex can create lives as well and, in a way, take them away.
I like the way you and the parents of your son's lady friend are handling it. It sure does sound like a good way to go. Thank you for sharing this.
