Thanks editor. I try to do most of those things and
the rest days are probably going to be very good for me.  The sleep is the hard part.

Some Ideas for you....
  1. You can't lose weight if you're not getting enough sleep. Schedule in at least 6 hours a day; scientific studies have shown that 7 to 8 is optimal.
  2. Make sure that you're getting enough water. Dehydration leads to weight gain.
  3. Muscle weighs more than fat, but takes up less room. So you've probably gained a bit of muscle -- which you'll see on the scales as a gain, even though it's a good gain.
  4. Your body will not let you lose too much weight too quickly, in general. So if you have hit a plateau, be patient. As long as you are sure that you're not letting your diet/exercise plan slip, your body's just catching up with the program.
  5. Rest days from your running are probably a good idea. I read recently that your muscles need time to heal, and that if you don't vary your workout, your body can get used to it so that it doesn't work any more.

good luck with the plan!

Activity helps. Necessity really helps. =)
I stay up until I'm done with work.  I get up when my son gets up.

Gee I feel awful if I don't get at least 7 hours sleep

My husband seems to exist on about 6, but I have always needed more.

I guess being active helps (you avoid the couch potatoe syndrome that I am very prone to).

Don't let those scales get you down. Go by how your clothes feel.
