Passion, it's not a box, it's blinders.
You must be looking in a direction they don't want you to if you are seeing darkness.

Religion is not for me.
It feels like someone forcing you to sit quietly in a little dark box. I'm developing a relationship with God.

Thank you for the Amen RMA.
It is an appropriate response for this blog because the real name of the god pictured in this blog is Amen-Ra.  It's where religions such as Christianity, Judaism, and Islam get the word.  It was borrowed from the Egyptians when they created the new religions.

I agree Ariel. We consider ourselves enlightened because
of our scientific advancement and yet the religious wars that we would consider an evil part of the "dark" ages still continue.  We won't be truly enlightened until we quit killing other people just because their false beliefs go against our false beliefs.

Yes indeed!!!

Our grandchildren ( let alone their grandchildren ) will look back on our age in disgust, imcomprehension, disbelief and utter bewilderment. We shall appear to them the veriest of savages, with no regard whatsoever for the sanctity of human, and other forms of life.

You are correct Ariel. That is the hisorical name for that time period.
Perhaps that's when this age began or maybe it was the beginning of the transition between the ages.  It's hard to tell.  In 300 years, people will look back on this blog and wonder how I could consider this the time of enlightenment.

I've always understood that the Age of Enlightenment, or the Age or Reason began with the shedding of mediaeval superstition in the 18th century.

I firmly believe that we now live in an Age of Unreason. One has only to read some blogs in here for the truth of that assertion to be driven home forcibly
