- Go to Democrats Grille Rumsfeld, Burn Themselves with Ignorance
Oh, but Jane, they're so much fun to read!
I love FW's word, "neocompooks." Very inventive! As for his question, no, that is not what I want. What I want is for the Democrats to put themselves on record as proposing to do that. It cannot wn in this Congress, but it will commit them to action where all they've done is posture.
Damon repeats the usual misunderstanding (I'll be nice
and not say "misrepresentation") of the event he describes. Mission: Depose Saddam. Mission accomplished, with or without his or her revisionism. Typical disregard for historic context.

It would seem that the Dems are all talk and no action.
Which, of course, is nothing new.
You note that your two liberal commentators below have nothing to offer as an alternative, which is also nothing new!

Please Remind...
me...when was it, exactly, that the Shrub made that ridiculous landing on an aircraft carrier moored off California and stood speechifying in front of a huge "Mission Accomplished" banner?
It was a while back, wasn't it?
And it was another lie, wasn't it?

So, you want the US senate to end government spending for the war?
Someone responsible has to clean up the mess the neocompooks have gotten us into, and punishing the soldiers on the ground is not a viable option to cure misguided leadership. the hearings were about strategy, planning and tactics. It is more than evident that the Bushies are clearly lacking in all three departments.
