Thanks to everyone for commenting.
There are way too many to respond to one at a time but I did try and return the read. SOME PEOPLE need to update their blogs, no names mentioned here but you know who you are!

Thank goodness
for small mercies such as generators. Sometimes the power can be off here for up to a week.

I am sorry you are having such a hard time in the heat. It is really hot here now too. We are used to a lot of humidity, not now it has not rained in months except for a few drizzles. May all will be up and running very soon.

Offbeats, they took that out about a year ago. It was a great big old eyesore sitting in my den. You know how I feel about such things. I suppose I could get them to bring it back, but I dearly hate it.

That's what I'm worrying about, bel. I sleep with an oxygen concentrator on and I'm concerned I don't have any oxygen when/if the power goes. Tomorrow won't be any different. Hot, Hot, Hot!

Bel, I would melt in heat like that, I feel for you
you guys are so self-suffieient, having a generator. If our power went down here in the city, I'd have to light candles. I hope you're back on line soon.

But DO mind the doctor...over 140 people have died from heat-related stuff in the past 2 weeks in Calif alone.

I hope you have your computer on a surge protector-
I've seen people mess up their computers by using a generator to power them. You can stay at my apt tonight. It's so cold, I get up in the night to turn up the A/C-
In fact, I'm still at the office and my hands are so cold I can barely type.

I was just thinking the very same thing. If the ability to keep power on there was as pathetic as it is here people would be dying everyday from the heat.
This is just stupid! Remember the blackout in 2001 across most of the east coast.

It seems ironic that I'm sitting in the desert with a better infrastructure of electricity than the US. Seriously, that is weird. They are totally ass backwards with some things around here yet, advanced in other areas.
