Thing and gears? It's amazing what you can do with no pressure...just reading back here to see what I've been missing out on your teaching adventures.

Power company, Hydro One Networks Inc. is waiting for the axe to fall on them by the Ontario Energy Board. As my lawyer says, we just have to wait for it to 'unold'.

That's the thought I finally came to also- especially after reading all of these nice comments. I think it helped me as I am establishing my relationship with them- they could see that I was not afraid to admit that I didn't always have all the answers.

Thing and Gears?
Nana, I think that is a good thing that your students realize you don't have all the answers. Sometime we have to find the answers ourselves instead of looking to others to do it for us.

Nana
My brain is total mush right now.
That seems like a good challenging assignment for them, I bet they were proud after their accomplishments with this assignment.

Perfectly understandable...anyone would have gotten flustered.
The heat has everyone going nutz. don't be so hard on yourself.

Perfect lesson --
your students see that even teacher misses some. It gives them a sympathetic link to you, so the next lesson will be even better received. Way to go!!!

Nanaroo don't sweat it
I got the answer to this question wrong in school today
8 x 5 + 4 =
I accidently wrote 49 instead of 44 (I was thinking about 9 x 4).
It's a lot harder to think when you are on the spot. I only knew about half the kids in class (remember I am casual) and I was losing their attention.

I was just really distracted by the heat and the questions- they do look easy to me now. I'm not used to having a bunch of kids sitting with me in a very warm room, all asking me questions at once! My brain was a little fried.

I didn't think they were all that hard...maybe you were just
trying too hard to get the answers...overlooking the obvious!
