don't think. We simply fall victim to whatever Trojan horse of emotionalism is trundled up to us in the place of logic, reason, common sense and sound analysis of facts.

I've written a column to this effect
but it seems to be easier for politicians to try to score cheap points by pandering about a windfall tax than to actually take measures that would bring gas prices down. Anyone who stops and thinks about it should realize that raising taxes will
raise gas prices, but maybe people just aren't thinking.
