Nicely done, swftfox,
You ask a very simple, but difficult question, to which none have the answer. You ending is rather appropriate, in my opinion, i.e., Gabriel's trumpet sounding and the coming of Christ to settle it once and for all. Just my thoughts. Thanks. :)

Thanks Dave. I guess I gotta leave it as it was a
war vs humanity vs God theme. I would be remiss as a Christian if I didn't include my opinion of the outcome with the rest. Glad you liked the balance of it though! Thanks!

A strong statement about the waste of war! Thank you.

Not sure about the last verse as it puts off the non-believers among us,
but I really liked the rest of it. Of course, if your intention is that it's a religious poem, then it must stay. But if you wanted it as a war versus humanity poem, which is how I was reading it, then perhaps the Christian element could be removed. Good work, whatever you decide.

beautiful poem, inspiring but sad, what a sacrifice!
turning to God is the answer, a message of hope.
