Offbeats
Be kind to that dragon, I am thinking slaying him will be easier than most dragons. Something tells me he is easily injured!

Don't worry, Offbeats...I'm still planning to slay that Dragon....
It's my civic duty. I'm such a humanitarian.

Bel...I think it's only fair that we each get to register at our own
Store...Carl might choose Home Depot, who knows what store you'll choose...as for me, I'm registered at Cut-Rate Liquors and Condom Sense....LOL!!!!
We'll dress Offbeats up in a peach taffetta ball gown and get her juiced on rum and tequila, then we'll throw her in the pool....hope she can swim.

I must have been gone while he was here Blanche
I consider myself a Christian. Just because I don't go to church or read the "right" Bible does not mean that I don't have strong beliefs. I just know that I was raised to believe in a loving God. If we look back at history, yes it is true that the Christians have been persecute but we have to look at the whole picture and realize many times the Christians have also been the ones to persecutes others. Look at the beginning of America and how we did things. Look at the immigrants that were "educated" when they came here. Basically they had Christian beliefs forced down their throats.

Bel, it's why I gave up discussing politics (almost) on the blog,
I felt like I was beating my head against a brick wall, ditto with Gideon when he joined as Professor Peabody, plus we were alienating everybody.

Bel, I couldn't agree with you more, it's a simple logic problem,
Not all Muslms are terrorists, not all terrorists are Muslim, but somehow making simple overgeneralizations is far easier for some to deal with. Life is not that simple.

That is what troubles. I have read the bible many time throughout my life. Either some people are reading a different bible (I am not not talking the difference between KJV and the Living Bible) or they are creating their own interpretation. Because the God I know does NOT endorse this kind of persecution of others.

Absolutely great post, Bel 1965 !!! I doubt that radicals of the world's different faiths, know or even care, that words with meanings similar to that of the Golden Rule, are clearing spelled out in their own religious literature.

To stereotype is to simplify the issue in one's own mind
The trouble with stereotyping is that it moves further from the truth.

Look at Ireland. (No offense to Cringe or other intended in ANYWAY). More people have been killed in the name of God that I can even begin to count. We as Christians tend to preach one thing and then do a completely different thing. The population of Iraq is MUSLIM! How can we claim to want to give these deserving people a better life if we also in the same breath claim to hate them?
You know I genuinely appreciate your opinions and your work is always well researched but I simply won't buy into sterotyping anyone.

It is easier
to label someone, or some group, to demonize them, than it is to just think it through. A lot of people say things they don't necessarily mean....they are just lazy parrots. Which doesn't excuse it.

Unfortunately....
some populations have a much higher level than others and it's based on their government or their religion.......no we do not want to generalize.....
But, until we have a different group performing all these acts of terror...you have to go with the numbers. Is it profiling? Damn straight? But it's also common sense and logic........

bel...This is one of those reasons I don't follow the news,
or anything else regaurding this subject.
To reguard a whole population of people as being bad is just nonsense to me. In my mind, this is not even possible.
You will have your freaks in every population. In this case, the freaks just gained too much power.
