OFFBEATS
It was 13 dollars worth. And, yes, I do regret saying something after seeing it. My wife said that she would've never thought to look there. I just happened to look and see it. It's not my nature to look for money, but I do notice a lot of things.

No, I haven't thought of that! But, my wife and her sister were born on the 13th. I thought I was having a string of bad luck today, but it turned out okay. I just felt bad for having taken something that was obviously a malfunction of some kind.

So you are not
superstitious about 13

PreTTy Shiny Quarters All Over!? WoW...that's hard to resist! Fun to look
at... I would feel bad taking them cause they don't belong to me.  But I sure would be influenced by "gold fever"...

That is funny. I don't even think the kids saw what happened, but I am still feeling strange about it.

No one was around, except for a few people walking around. I was going to leave it, but I showed it to my wife and she said, 'You wouldn't have showed it to me if you didn't want it.' Perhaps she is right.

I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought it was some kind of trick at first. It looked like a slot machine pay-off.

The car was working okay, except for not rocking back and forth. We weren't sure if it was supposed to. There was no one else around, and the stores hadn't opened yet. The kids were having fun.

Rumored
Well, I did; but, upon showing my wife, I watched disappointedly as she took them. All together, it was 13 dollars.

Avant-garde, sometimes even lessons for children go awry no matter how good your intentions.  We were showing our children around in an art & antique gallery in Santa Fe once when they saw an old one-armed bandit hanging on the wall and wanted to know what it was.  After daddy explained to them what it was and the evils of gambling and the merit of working hard to earn a living, he got out a nickle to show them how it would be lost with no gain.  He put the nickle in and pulled down the arm and nickles began raining down, dropping all over the floor at their feet.   The lesson was lost on them as the four of them excitedly scrambled around on their hands and knees.

I am betting Dad taught his children the right thing
and turned it into security.

I would have
called someone over to fix the problem. My children's joy would be more important than the money. Soppy I know, but dealing with upset children is no walk in the park.
