Having been in similar shoes in the past
While it does happen that they come back in time, it's not real likely he will return to find her. He is more likely to find another woman or more precisely a naive young girl (under 25), likely one who has been very sheltered or one that is "damaged" by previous abuse.
It's a shame he wasn't given life for all the harm he did to those women.
