You have a discounted a lot of "peace niks"
that actually made a HUGE difference in civilazation. The most famous being Ghandi and Martin Luther King. They're  good examples of peace protests actually bringing about peace! What about the bomb as a bringer of peace? The Strangelovian world we live needs a hydrogen explosion for people to live together. What a crazy world!

Corbin_Dallas,
So they gave you a lap top? I am in the market for one myself, need to save a little! The upgrades have taken them out of my price range for now! You know "Uncle Tom's Cabin" was a popular fable!

You are so predictable...you need to change strategeries........

You only wish you were as smart and respected as Dr. Tomas Sowell......wallow in you sorrow and self-pity.   Life passes you by.........

Man, I wait for you yesterday....had a great cookout........

Corbin_Dallas,
Why the photo? And what does it represent or prove?

I'm trying to think of a cease fire that actually accomplished anything...
(other than at the end of the major wars)....all a cease fire does, all too often, is give both sides time to regroup for the next round....

Corbin_Dallas, I've been thinking about this post since I read it yesterday.  What a conundrum--peace makes war and war makes peace.  How can that be?

Corbin_Dallas,
Again you come in to state the absurd! Israel is the equivalent of the old well armed "Forts" that protected America's interest as it massacred "Native American Civilization"! It is not in America's Racist interest to have equal standing among the Races or Religions of the Planet! You people mistrust the "Brown Race"! You people live in abject fear of "pay-back"!

I don't know what the answer is to all of this might be.
And I really can't look at any of it objectively as it could very possibly hit too close to home for me.

Corbin
Very interesting post! It is true that many people do not know the differnce between fact and fiction. Personally I have ran into people who thought the "Da Vince" code was real....go figure!

Isn't it ironic?
great post.  I'm all in favor of letting Israel pound Hizballah for a few weeks before we start even talking about a cease-fire.

Dallas, an interesting post -- if we don't learn from history,
we will repeat it -- This past school year, I had the privilege of teaching a 20th Century History class to Juniors and Seniors in High School all born after 1987, and they were amazed at what happened in their own Century before they were born, and even in their life-time, because history was not there favorite subject!
