One wonders if such people as Damon Leigh ascribe the bomb outrages in Indonesia, now India and other places in the Far East to American aggression?

What a bizarre world view. Next we'll be told that if we just pick up our ball and go home ( sorry Justi! ) they'll leave us alone. Dream on. Until you wake up under sharia law

emiratestodayonline.com  Right on the front page....cute little kid.....sad face and all, perfect media shot.

Also, the UAE sent a 26 Van convoy clearly marked with UN flags for relief aid and humanitarian support with food and supplies that Israel attacked, but after the second attempt has made it safely to Lebannon.

I am not putting down your opinion....just offering points to hope you'll see a different opinion.

All these photos...are supposed to be pictures of Lebanese children?  Wonder why our Main Stream,  Drive-By Media hasn't been flooding our airwaves with the same accounts?

They've been repeatedly trying to draw a parallel between the Americans' evacuation and Katrina......but I thought they would hop on the chance to show Israel as 'Baby killers"  after all it is our Liberal Press' style of choice........

I get your point honestly, but aren't we suppose to be getting better at this? Anyway, I've made my points. My first priority will always be what is in the best interest of the US. And I know the intention with this war and I back the US stance....even though I wish Israel would have used better tactics and strategies (Yes, I'm entitled to my opinion) It is just really hard to stomach the graphic images that I'm seeing over here. I guess maybe it is a good thing for most Americans that the US media does a good job shielding the reality and grahpic nature of war. (that is the only positive comment you will see from me regarding the US media).....I mean good grief......most Americans can't even stomach seeing an animal tortured or in pain.....much less that of the dead bodies of children plastered all over the news and papers....I guess I'm being coming one of those victims of the media on this side of the world??? It is overshadowing my thought process regarding the real issues.

In WWII  we lost 92,000 men in the Pacific Theater.....The Japanese lost 1.6 million.   Was that disproportionate?

I do agree with the fight against terrorism and I do believe that war is necessary at times, but there seems to be a total disregard for innocent lives here.....yes, there will be innocent victims of war, but the numbers I'm getting regarding percentages of innocent civilians compared to targeted terrorists is a little alarming.....going to war doesn't give any country the right to have a blatent disregard for humanity. There are currently over 200,000 children with no food or water in Lebbanon......yeah....yeah....call me a bleeding heart if you want to,..........say I'm not Patriotic.....I really don't care because I will always care about the innocent lives that are lost.

Wrong...
...on SO many levels.

1. Israel spends 7.7% of GDP on their military. This puts them seventh in the world, beaten only by such peaceful luminaries as Eritrea and Saudi Arabia - and I have a feeling this does not include the vast amount of cash and arms funneled to Israel by America. Lebanon, on the other hand, spends 3.1%, placing it 43rd in the world, and significantly less than America spends (4.6% and rising fast!). That fact alone makes this a disproportionate fight.

2. Israel kindly leaflets people, telling them their about to be bombed - and sometimes gives them - gasp! - HOURS to leave! How wonderfully nice of them. However, a) I don't buy this as much more than a piece of propaganda to convince gullible Americans that they are still right to be supporting their terrorist state; b) even if it is true, do you really think 'hours' is long enough for a mass evacuation of a city to take place? And c) even if it was, with roads, bridges and the airport among the early targets, where the fuck would you expect these people to go??

3. The disproportionate element that you so sagely question is simply a continuation of Israeli policy for many decades. You have doubts? Then click here for the proof.

4. Article 4 (I believe it is) of the Geneva Conventions allows a nation to protect and defend itself when under attack, and it allows for armed resistance when a country is being occupied. Hezbollah only came into being as a RESPONSE to the ISRAELI OCCUPATION of Lebanon in the 1980s, and it did so with the support of the Geneva Conventions. The main reason you're hearing about them again now is that they're responding to yet another threat (and the beginnings of an occupation - the Israeli army has been occupying two Lebanese villages near the border for the past three days) by - yup, you guessed it - Israel!

5. You have no idea what you are truly supporting. This might help.

Israel and the US love to share this poor-us victim stance - we're getting attacked (9/11, Haifa and so on) and therefore we must strike back (and cause 10+ times the human damage - over 40,000 killed in Iraq for the 3,000 in the WTC - and there weren't even any Iraqis involved!!)

The sooner the world sees through this bullshit, and realises that 9/11 was a response to US aggression over many decades, in the same way that Hezbollah is a response to prolonged Israeli aggression, the sooner this madness will end.

Allow me to chime in here for a minute. Glennb is insane and only serves to irritate readers and writers. Ariel70 has given him some good advice but I dare say he will not take it. I blocked him many moons ago.

Has anybody thought about the 241 sleeping American marines the Hezbollah killed in Lebanon? Lebanon allows anything to go on in their country. They throw up their hands and let Syria walk all over them, they let the Hezbollah run their country. Lebanon has lost their right to get in the middle.

What are Americans civilians doing going into a country that has been unstable for years just to go to school. Or are the others going because the money for work is outrageous, oh well you knew there could be war from any side when you went.

Blond you can't fight a war asking the other side if this or that is alright with them. Where does this sort of thinking come from?

Ask yourself this.....

If your goal is to destroy Hezbollah's ability to commit terrorist acts......what good does it do to destroy their current supplies and leave open the manner in which they can get, say, more of the rockets.

When their flown in from Iran....where do you think they arrive?  The Lebanese government has been living n fear of hezbollah...they're not going to prevent the materials from coming in.......to you have to closed that door.

Later, after you get the job done and have neutralized  Hezbollah....you help Lebanon rebuild it infrastructure and make sure they are able to establish the types of security forces capable of Hezbollah from regaining control of the country......

At best, all I can say is.....bombing an International Airport is a cheap shot. I can go on and on all day about the wrongs of terrorists against the world.....but.....I can't seem to make any sense out of how Israel is handling this. Strategic planning??? I don't think so.

Bombing the airports and bridges into Syria, and establishing of a naval blockade were strategic military decisions......

To destroy an enemy's capabilities and weaponry....it's highly important to make sure they are limited in their means to be resupplied by Syria and Iran.

Your grasp on reality becomes more tenuous every time that I read one of your illiterate, ill-informed, grotesquely biased and dementedly racist rants.

How very typical of your reasoning processes -- if one might stretch the word so far -- to acuse one who dissents from your views of being a Jew.

Clearly, you are incapable of grasping the fact that attempting to take an objective position on the situation in the Middle East does not imply that one is a Jew. Not that it has anything to do with you but in fact I am a lapsed Catholic Christian, now an atheist.

As to your questions, sir, they are so peurile as not to require an answer. I strongly reccomend that you attempt -- which I am sure will prove exceedingly difficult for one of you limited mental capacity --  to grow up, and enter the world of adults.

I tune in to you daily.....but I have to ask........did Israel give out leaflets or warnings before bombing the Lebannon International Airport? I just do not agree with their tactics.....I do want to fight terrorism and I support many actions taken against it......but I do not agree with how Israel is handling this situation.....but I am just a small little girl in this world.....who cares what I think right?

Ariel70,
You are obviously a Jew! Because they scream anti-Semitism at the sight of opposition to their insanity! What is your retort when a "Nigger" screams Racism? And the Nigger does not have a single "Bomb" to defend himself!

Once more, I note that you have not a word to say about the numerous atrocities committed agains Jews by Arabs since 1948.

But then, given one's familiarity with the total lack of reason and objectivity in all that you write, and your well known and rabid anti-Semitism, one would be too optimistic to expect anything else from you.

One also wonders what you imagine gives you the right to order fellow bloggers in a contemptuous and peremptory manner to  Drop this! or that!  if it does not accord with your preconceptions.

I was unaware that debate must only take place within terms suitable to you. Apparently I am naive in thinking that everyone is free to air any opinion in here.

America has gotten all the mileage from fighting the Germans with the rest of the Planet than they deserve! So lose that argument! There were institutions Chartered to end the need for Armed confrontation! Germans were put on trial for war crimes! The Jew and George Bush are not immune from prosecution for their crimes either!

The angry young man who commented below has a point ...

At least, the part about Lebanese civilians potentially being unable to evacuate, regardless of how many warning notes they receive, anyway.

Also, no one's arguing that the Israelis are worse than a terrorist organization  (I hope).  However, that doesn't mean the Jews are suddenly immune to criticism or morally just.

As always Glenn......you missed the point....I'll type real slow...

The buildings they target have either caches of rockets or contain organizational units of Hezbollah.......

"Honey?" Do you think we're in danger because that Hezbollah radio center is in the building's laundry room?"  Shouldn't we leave?

DUH?

I guess you would stand outside your house and in Patton like fashion shoot down the planes with your words?

What would you have done to the Germans and Japanese in WWII   The US lost hardly any civilians....yet we killed millions of theirs during the war.......The Germans were the ones tried for war crimes Glenn not the Allies.

Glenn.....it's  WAR....

Here's a thought.....put some blame on Hezbollah...they're the ones who entered Israel, killed  8 soldiers, and kidnapped 2....that's what started all this.

Corbin_Dallas,

Let me see if I understand you! If I send you a note that I am going to blow up your house you had better move makes me civilized and humane! Suppose you don't get the note or you are too incapacitated to move! Or suppose you feel that I do not have the right  to destroy your property and will stand to defend it?

Americans were told the same lies about our crimes in Iraq! Enough! I know the job market is tough but you need to be able to sleep at night! You need to get yourself a new job!
