ariel,
thanks for your interesting comment! You know, I have seen figures to that effect before, and to me that is one of the most interesting phenomena about the British situation! It certainly bears investigationg and analyzing further!

LeroyCoyote,
circumstances prevented me from thanking you for your comment earlier! And I fully agree, to introduce Shariah law anywhere in the West would be a disaster!

The strange thing is - and it's a thing that many find a little indigestible --  that in many polls in Britain, the perceptions of the indigenous population of Muslims is far more tolerant than vice versa.

Despite racist propaganda to the contrary, it is clear that the respect and tolerance for Muslims shown beyond doubt in these surveys is not in any way reciprocated. On the one side is respect and on the other hatred and contempt.

Who then are the racists?

Islamo-fascists stats
Naut, this again is a very valuable piece.  Truth is being written about this but it is so marginalized that I am concerned the general public is beginning to go the wrong way.  Islamic law in Europe would produce the same misery it produced in Islamic countries throughout history.  We have to fight.

TAPS,
thanks for your comment. I saw the same thing on CNN, and my reaction was, 'really?'  My point is this, TAPS, I don't have to be told that you have Hezbollah, al Qaeda and several other outfits in the US! I know we have them here in Canada, and I personally know several 'sympathizers', but of course, it's not illegal to be a sympathizer. Daniel Pipes talks about the presence of a 'nurturing [Islamist] community' in Britain, and I can assure that we have the same thing here. But for a number of reasons, one of them being that it is less concentrated than in Britain, it isn't as visible here.

Nautikos, CNN was just saying on the evening news that Hezbollah is here in the US and that "sympathy attacks" are possible.    Its too bad that this has to be the focus of everybody everywhere.

Nautikos

This is such a well written post~and yours just are all the time~that I hesitate to comment.

One cannot just pass all of this by and say, "Oh it will never end." But you know, I feel it will never end until we realize that perhaps God created Arabs, and all the other cultures to live in their own lands.

Damn, that sounds almost racist I guess, but I'm not.

We are going to pay a price for insinutaing ourselves into those cultures in negative ways. It has always been about oil really.

Isn't it a fact that we white men, with the exception perhaps of Lawerence of Arabia, always assumed we knew best about everything?

Fact is, democracy just doesn't work well everywhere does it. China comes to mind right now.

There are only two solutions as I see it. All the Arabs have to die or all the Christians and Jews.

Or, we send everybody back to Arabia or wherever, barter with them to leave Israel alone, and get on with building fortress North America.

I'm out of my depth here, I know.

I am not saying much on the subject for many reasons but I am reading!

There is such a lack of understanding in the general public of the Islamic culture. The other thing is we are so divided in this country and in yours between the leftist and the conservatives that any enemy could take us. A house divided will not stand. Then there is the pervasive concept of deception. People refusing to see what is before them because there are three religions involved. It makes no difference whether people believe, ruminate, cogitate or whatever they do about this it is in place and will not change from the plan. I would stake my life on it.

Those are some frightening statistics, Nautikos. Thanks for sharing!

The democracies of the world need to wake up and pay attention.  I absolutely cannot FATHOM the notion of living under Shariah law.  I hope the Brits are paying attention.

I've read a number of Daniel Pipes writings, and have a lot of respect for his conclusions.
