I heard about that and wondered if anyone here was a big fan or not.

Mademoiselle

Stacey Keach is an actor that starred as Mike Hammer in the eighties. He's getting up there, but he's still around. As a matter of fact, he just starred in a western with Patrick Duffy of Dallas fame.

I didn't even know he had died ...

I could have really used having him* in my Dead Pool.  Red Buttons*, too.

P.S. Who's Stacy Keach?

And how would you say he/she's doing health-wise?

* May he rest in peace; My condolences to his family on their loss

Bel,
I'm having a mother moment, exchanging emails about whether or not she's coming over for her birthday.  I remember some of the covers from our old library, women in old fashioined hair styles, with red lipstick, pushy dames with a case.

I can't say as I have ever seen a cover.  I'll have to check next time  I go to Borders.

I was never particularly a fan so actually reading the books would have been too much for me LOL!  Unfortunately there are quite a few that would inject their little connotations without ever  actually stating the words.  Now I don't feel as if I missed much.

One should check even the simplest comment for spelling I guess if that one is I. I did not sue any one to read a book. I used to read some of the books. Sry.

Bel, Mickey Spillane was a little before my time
I liked the covers, though.  They were risque in a classic old way.

I could tolerate the TV show. It's the books that sometimes rubbed me wrong. I loved the hard-boiled tone, but was uncomfortable with some of his portrayals of black people. No, there was nothing strong enough to brand racist, but definitely stereotypical. A sign of the times.

I didn't know he died. I sued to read some of the books. I never liked that Stacy guy either so I only watched a few. How are you today?
