mysteria - I always wondered about people that do not see the folly of
proliferating that portion of Christian beliefs.
How can the ongoing infatuation in a doomsday scenario be anything but a bad thing? It not only, as you say: scares the bejesus out of the little kids, it also has a number of subtle effects on the general attitudes of society. It is simply an unhealthy message.

It is sad actually. All my life I have been hearing about the end of the world or the 'second coming' or the 'bomb' or the 'beast' or some other phrase that does nothing but scare the heck out of the children for cryin' out loud. It is as if the whole of humanity cannot wait to die.
