Justi
I do hope so.  At least at this point I know he is not just assuming it will "go away".

I am so glad he did this. Both of you will rest easy now that he has this issue at least in the works.

I'm so glad he's finally listening to his sweet (always right) wife.
Hopefully, this will really help on both issues.

I know most of them hate the VA and with good reason some of the hospitals are improving, service sucks big time but the military owes it to him to take care of it.

Bel, he insists that it is "not that bad" yet, but I worry when his knee
locks up on him, he could fall. We're not old, but we're not that young, when it comes to healing either.  A fall would not be a good thing.  I may have to push a little harder to get him to take care of this. You're right about the pre-existing condition clause.

Hope Carl's arm is ok.   He shouldn't be so stubborn.

They will have to take him off work for that to happen.  I am hoping they will.

Until he rests that arm, it won't heal. I had a similar injury and it damaged the tendon. Splitting wood and doing other things just aggravated the hell out of it. It finally healed after I stopped using it so much.

Does he understand that the new health insurance will probably not cover

technically it's a pre-existing condition and one that is covered by the military, he best not count on having it covered.

I know the VA sucks but remind him he has EARNED every single thing they "give" him.  Yeah, I know Carl doesn't listen either.

Bel,

Good for you, Bel, for getting him to go.  I know that getting a man to see a doctor can be like pulling teeth (literally).  MG does not want to go to the VA to see about getting his knee replaced. He has a prosthetic knee from a bad  parachute jump almost 20 years ago. I think it's time to be replaced, it locks up on him every once in a while, but he insists he will not go to the VA, but wait till his new health insurance at his job kicks in.

Stubborn men.  As for the psych services, good for him, there's no shame in that.  I hope he finds a good counselor, one who can empathize and help talk him through whatever's bugging him.  If combat doesn't give you a few demons, I don't know what will.

Taps
I don't know.  Luckily given the main problem happened while he was on active duty it should be taken care of with little problem.

Bel, I hope that extra damage has not been done by the long time he waited.
