i had a friend like that once, nan, that i was visiting in maine. she was
constantly applying make-up, and giving my look the look. one time we were getting ready to go out for a day of sunshine and i walked through the house wearing a choclate brown stretch halter brassiere, waiting until we were ready to go to put my blouse on.
my friend immediately felt challenged and asked "are you wearing that outside?". no, i said, i'm just too hot to put my shirt on yet, but the sight of it was too much. she immediately changed into an outfit that was so inappropriate for walking in the woods, but what the hey, it was her insecurity, not mine. if she had to grapple with traversing tree roots and rocks in wedgies, that was her doing.
unfortunately, she also spent my entire time there crying about the need to get high and would insist we drive into town (an hour's trip - one way) and go visit people in hopes they'd be home and willing to help her out.
i didn't last as long as i was supposed to but instead retreated to another friend's house for the duration of my vacation. months later our friendship was over. i just couldn't handle the strain of her constant anxieties.

You don't have to like her to enjoy her company during a short visit.
Thank goodness she stayed at a hotel and doesn't live near enough to give you a hard time all the time. LOL

I think you should just enjoy your sister...
And forget about the differences.

Hi, yes, I'm glad of that- she's so difficult to be around! (p.s. really sorry to hear about your job... I'll email you)
