Your friend sounds like a smart cookie, Azur.  Enjoy your reunion.

Azur - that friend sounds like she has a lot in common with Ben Franklin
(with the letters)

That sounds great, Azur,
I hope that, time permitting, that won't be too long.   Take care of yourself!

When there is time and energy I will describe this meeting.

Azur, there really is nothing as pleasant as re-discovering an old firiend
and chatting as if you'd never been apart.  I hope you two stay in touch, good friends are a treasure.

The letters thing reminds me of Joe Orton, writing complaints to newspapers

about his own plays, pretending to be an outraged old lady.

Saw Loot this weekend, in fact. Dated, but still deliciously daring.

marieclaire66,
I like the name. It is "Nice" although it's often interpreted here as a masculin name.
Of all the papers I have been associated with or know staff from, this was the only one where a staff member wrote letters. The name she used was such a national stereotype that it's a wonder people did not see through it.

Azur love the name by the way.
Thanks for reading my pulp, you must be the only one. It is kind of embarassing you know. I did not know, editors made up those letters to stir up business. Now, I will always wonder....

A friend who was an editor told how he had to fabricate those letters to the editorial page. Sometimes, the whole team sat down to drum up a letter. Lol.

It sounds like your job keeps you on your toes with all that detective work
sorry about the bland comments, just wanted to say hi, really. You have written your two cents worth, well that's the rate here I am afraid! Of course we cannot put a price on your invaluable writing!
