There are many who feel as I do.  Sometimes they are hard to find through all the craziness but we are here.

You're such a sweetheart.  The world needs more like you.  :)

Silly as this is, I pray that you will be able to stay in places that don't have green zones!  Stay safe and be proud without folks like you we wouldn't have a free country.

Hi, bel,
I'm in the army.  When I'm not traveling, I wear a uniform to work, now the ACUs.  I guess everybody's changing uniforms nowadays.  It's going to take quite a bit of getting used to for most of us who've been around for a while.  And, you're welcome.  :)  Thanks for your tremendous support.  :)

You are reserve?  Guard?  No matter, thank you for what you do!  LOL I told Carl I am just going to take them out back and hose them down.  Make sure no bleach and only tide with nothing but soap in it LOL!

Hi, bel,
I just wore my new ACU's for the first time last week.  One of my co workers in the Navy calls them pajamas, too.  It's definitely going to take some getting used to.  I washed them today, and I have them hanging now.  I have this overwhelming urge to iron them, though I know we can't.  I was once the queen of shining boots, too.  Something about this new uniform seems to feel lazy to me.  I know it's all in my head, but I just feel that way about it, even if it is lighter, cooler material.  Oh well.  Just my thoughts.

I am guessing these next two will go tons faster than last year did.  Of course I am counting the hope that he will actually hang up the uniform and call it good. He swears he will but I have heard that in the past.  Whatever he does I will stand behind him.

Thank you so much.  I am very proud of him no matter what he wears as well.  It just makes me sad to see the old way go.

I am proud of Carl what ever he wears as a uniform because he is proud of his military career. He is proud of this country. He is proud of the values that hold us together. You are a good wife. Both of you be blessed.

Given whenever I need something ironed I give it to Carl, I am grateful that the Army taught him such a useful skill LOL!

I wish we lived in a world where that were possible.  Until that time, I am grateful that we have those willing to step up and do what is needed to be done.

I wish our soldiers could only be used by UN peacekeeping forces

Bel, MG learned to iron by pressing uniforms, I can't fault the Army for
teaching him that. That and shining his shoes, he still does to this day.  It's not a bad thing for a man to know.

Trying to  make military life a little easier?  Sounds like a plan to get more people to sign up...I heard a few months ago they've relaxed some of the requirements to get in...like tatoos and piercings.  Maybe they don't think the new recruits can be trusted with an iron?  The velcro doesn't make much sense though.  I can just see the soldiers swapping name tags to try to confuse people.  Hey, new comander's coming in today...who do you want to be?

Pat
it's supposed to be more practical (more practical, ugh lousy grammar LOL).  I don't know how practical a uniform can be when everything is velcro'd on.  patches and name tags are inspectable and if they are caught on something etc... I doubt the soldier will be thrilled about that.
