Zooooooooommmm! Thanks for the zoom POETJBP; glad to visit
your hideout in the woods, among the blogs, but I have always welcome moisture (but not acid rain).
Wiley is a favorite freind on Blogit. Now he's the source of poetic refklection and inspiration too.

Hey Poetjpb and Wiley! I didn't know you all were Harley men! Cool!
I lost my Harley on account of my last divorce. It was either the bike went or raise my boys in a crack house, so I sold the bike. Here is a poem I wrote about 28 years ago or so. I think you will be able to identify with it! Y'all come visit at my Military Poetry, Dave's Classic Haiku and Dave's Poetic Meanderings!
HILLTOPS
Down, down into the valley
Where cold wind currents play;
Where little wraiths of winters breath
On lonely bikers prey;
Where if the moon should condescend
To give a wink or two;
The chances are still mighty slim
She’ll light the road for you.
A man and his machine will glide
Along a concrete line,
Into the valley where silent shadows
Play tricks upon his mind.
Then, when he thinks there is no way
To ride the valley through,
He gets a hint of summers pleasure,
The smell of morning dew.
The concrete line starts an ascension,
His iron is on the rise!
The stars burst forth, and brightly shining,
The moon has filled the sky.
He gunned his mighty motorcycle
And up the road he flew,
Smiling and thanking God for making
Roads with hilltops too!
