I think she's doing a fine job telling it too.
Another strong woman!

I seem to recall you mentioning some insanity from your ex in the past. Sadly abuse begins a cycle that in one manner or another will effect your kids for a lifetime. It's up to them how they handle it but it will always be there.

I'll have to do some research on the stats for physical abuse but when you consider that 1 in 5 women are abused sexually before they reach adulthood it's pretty crazy. Something I remind people about stats in this case. Go to your front door and look up and down your street. How many girls live on your street? According to those stats how many on your street are likely to be abused sexually before the age of 18? It's horrifying.

I live with and see the results in my children, from their mother. She still continues to this day.

Yes, I agree Avonna is doing an awesome job telling her story.
Bel, you will do well at this difficult task also. But I am amazed at how many people here have had such tough times!? I am not implying that I do not believe them, it just makes me wonder if abuse is much more widespread than they have told us in the past, or is there some other reason for congregating on Blogit? It still makes my heart ache to read all of these stories.
