Thanks Everyone!!!!

Day 2 does not feel nearly as stressful!!!  To answer a question or two.  Carl is also quitting with me.  We had about a 5 minute spat early in the day over something insanely ridiculous.  We are both smart enough to know that was the anxiety versus anything that was really worth arguing over.

I am a bit edgy so I am avoiding politics AT ALL COST!  If you have read me and you are posting on politics keep this in mind LOL!  I will not comment to anything regarding politics until my mood is a bit less "edgy".

All In all I survived day one.  Thank you all for your support and encouragement!!!!!!

I quit smoking when I was 19. The first two days were really hard. My body was very edgy and nervous. After that, it was just a matter of liking them very much but saying no.

Good luck. Talion's your man for some ex-smoker's support.

Good for you.  This kind of thing is like mind over matter.  The mind battling the body.  There's a psychology behind kicking the weed.  Probably finding a way to think of something else or stimulating your body by some other means when a craving hits is a good technique.   For instance....think of lemon meringue pie.  I love that stuff and it doesn't get in your hair or on your clothes.  Mind you, I often wish my bed was a big lemon meringue pie, in which case it might...

Hope you're not alone

Get some support from friends and family and let them know what you are doing.  It helps to have a support system to help you out.  Willpower will only get you so far, but the support system will help you that much more when you are feeling that you can't do it, just give them a call and it can help so much.

The best advice I can give you is too not dwell on how long you have stopped and when the last time you had one and how bad you want one.  Try not to think about it at all and fill you days with as many activities as possible.  The busier you are, the less you will think about it.  And they should be activities that you normally wouldn't smoke.  Like, going bowling may not be a good one, but going on a bike ride or going kayaking would be a great one.

You may also want to read the tipping point.  The entire last chapter talks about smoking and it is very interesting to learn how the behavior is learned.  Learning why you smoke may be the key to quitting.

Best of luck!!!

Thank you everyone

So many have commented that it would take me all night to respond to every one and right now I just can't sit still that long.  Please know the thoughts and encouragement mean the world to me and it does help!

I love you guys!!!

Your doing great
just remember to stay away from people who smoke and away from your old routine. Old routine reminds you to have  a smoke for example with your coffee, so instead change up your routine have a glass of water or sunflower seeds or go for a short walk. The little things you change help get your mind off the habit and also remind your self you can get through this, it just takes time. Don't go back because smoking does kill and I want to read your posts. Good luck.
