i, too, am overwhelmed with today's violence. i see the photos of families
sitting in bombed-out homes, content to stick around and fight the fight. for what? is anything worth all that misery? it is difficult to understand.

I'm ashamed to be human. We suck. And I so don't watch tv because it's so sensationalist. They spoonfeed us trash and if we aren't careful, we take it for fact. Ugh.

There are days I just have to turn the TV off.
I sometimes go for several days without turning it on. Then I figure I'd better in case the world ended and they forgot to tell me. Nope this aint my planet!

I used to be so freaked out about the state of the world, I literally couldn't stand it. It felt awful, and I felt powerless, but it also blinded me to what is good and right all around me. I have no control over the situation in Iran, Iraq, Korea etc. but I also have faith that essentially there is much good in the world, too.
Also, that Korea is just shaking us down for more money. They're crazy but not that crazy.

Nanaroo, I've seen your picture and you do not look anything like that
guy in the space pod, who is decidedly grey and spooky-looking. However, I agree about feeling like an alien to this planet, with so much violence over so little, it seems. Myself, I have to shield myself from the news reports. I can only take so much listening to it. There's very little I can do, except to do what I can to maintain my own inner peace.
