SYMPHONY, these are unusual pictures. I've never seen a blue dot in the middle of the sun before and that first one looks like "X marks the spot". Here, they paint those on trees that they want cut down or on sidewalk sections that they want replaced.

I like the silhouettes of the buildings and trees better than the skies
Nice shots, Symph.

Remarkable and cool shots. That's a perfect X and that dot is so perfectly centred, too. I used to carry my camera everywhere with me but got out of the habit a few years ago. I'm tempted to start doing it again, though, because you never know what you're going to see. I'll hope you'll keep carrying yours

I read where contrails can tell you whether or not the atmosphere is saturated with moisture. They do remain in a moisture-laden atmosphere, which is an indication of bad weather on the horizon.

Wow, that's cool. I know that the cross was made from contrails (exhaust from airplanes), but I'm not sure about the dot. I was thinking before I saw it that it might be Venus, but I'm not so sure now. Perhaps a UFO?

Symphony those are not a good thing, they are called chem-trails
and I get them all the time over the mountains and they are not normal airplane emissions. I did a post on them in opinions a while back if you want to find out more about them. Regular plane emissions dissipate quickly, these spread out and make weird clouds. For some reason they do them in "X" shapes, now no commercial airlines fly like that, not here in the USA or anywhere probably. There is a lot of controversey as to what they are emitting. You may want to do a search on chem-trails too. But remember they are not a good thing! But keep taking pics and document them. That is what I am doing and writing to our local public officials to get some answers. It happens frequently here in Colorado. Stay well!

I believe those straight line streaks in the sky
are con trails -- left either by jet engine exhaust upon acceleration, or nearing a landing when a pilot jettisons some of his fuel (for safety reasons, so they say). There are generally more of them in flight paths around big airports.

Yes I agree...Sunnybeach7
I really have no idea what it is - unless that is what happens if you take a picture of the sun....I think somebody else should experiment and let me know....

Beautiful pics! The purple dot could be a camera's reaction from the sun's strong light.

Those are beautiful ...
However, that dot in the Sun looks suspiciously like an ink blot. In fact, it even looks blue.
Not to accuse you of anything, of course.
