Even diet?

I think I'd heard that before, but for different resons...that the pop effects your acid/alkaline balance and makes you tend to gain more weight.  Glad I never got into that stuff...no matter what they say, it doesn't taste as good.

You got me on the instant oatmeal though...that's dinner on my new plan!!

Good Post
And that is why I eat little amounts of what ever I like, and have never switched to low fat alternatives (like low fat milk). I know I will jsut crave tyhe real thing anyway, so I have a small amount of the stuff I really want.

The world as I know it would probably end, too!

STRAT
Whew, you had me scared! If you give up beer, the world as I know it, would probably end!

Offbeats,
Oh, hell no! I just said it would probably help, that's all.

I could never part with my "pork chop in a can."

Dang!
I dunno if I can give up my one guilty pleasure -- the french vanilla creamer. Of course, it's just one cup in the morning. What would probably help more is to give up the beer...

My body has always just rejected diet soda.  All of it tastes like lighter fluid to me.  Or what I suppose lighter fluid might taste like :)

good list. I didn't realize that about diet soda, but I gave all soda up
about 5 years ago.  If I have it more than once a month, it's a lot.

Cindy
3,4 and 5 are my favorites! To learn my instant oatmeal is now on the list breaks my heart!

Cindy7, That last paragraph is certainly correct.   All my life I have rejected sleep in favor of fascinating and loved activities and interests (these days blogging fits in there with the others).    After nearly 70 years, my daily sleep amount would probably average out to five hours per night.   My most habitual snack during those extra awake hours is chips or something with bread and all my life I have waged a war against unneeded pounds--sometimes winning, sometimes losing, but always fighting.

Not surprised

I'm not surprised that the foods you listed will make people fatter. They all have one thing in common: they are all seriously modified foods. I think our bodies work best with natural foods and whole foods, the less we tamper with what nature produces the better our bodies can utilize it.

I don't believe in starving oneself. Eat foods from all the food groups but in moderate amounts and don't be sedentary, (get up and move!). Drink water and real juice...not soda, Kool Aid,etc. Let go of anger, hatred, fear and other negatives and your health should improve.
