Thnks for the suggestions, Doug--
It's true, we learn via different channels, and to hear something spoken sometimes gets it into the mind more effectively than reading it.  Not to mention how much better spent the time is, while stuck in traffic or driving across Kansas!

Don't forget to check out audio, too
Some people mock me for it, but I really think that books on tape and even lecture courses on tape can be even better than books, especially nonfiction.

If you are into religious and philosophical scholarship you might want to check into courses on tape
from "The Teaching Company" www.teach12.com . Of particular interest please consider the "Philosophy and Intellectual History" section and the "Religion" section. I recommend from the former "Great Ideas of Philosophy" by Daniel Robinson and from the latter "The New Testament" by Bart Ehrman.

best,
Doug

You're right, FactorFiction--
the complexities  require a few readings. The first one is a scouting expedition; real mining operations come later!
