BlondeAmbition007, That's a harsh reality to come to terms with
I've found the letter-writing helps, too.  The kind I never send.  You're right, though, it's not bitterness to acknowledge the truth.

Forgiving, for real forgiving, sets you free. I am not religious at all
but once you can see her as a flawed, very human, being you can start getting on with your own healing.  That's what I did, anyway.

From experience, I can say it does get a little easier with time, but you
never really get over it.
